The reality of what Uber actually is is settling in. Driverless cars continue their perpetual “five years off” trajectory and it seems like the company is going to simply continue exploiting structural weaknesses — in labor, in local and state governments, in the decidedly American rejection of mass transit — while they unprofitably limp along.
