My kinda geek

Posted on .

These days, I’m not the huge Macnerd that I used to be, when I would berate my friends for their Windows loving ways (also, I had a ponytail and a goatee resembling Shaggy’s during that dark time, so I wore my bad decisions pretty outwardly). I’d say I’ve calmed to more of an aficionado, a vested and interested devotee, but certainly not a breathless apologist.

Which is why I’m so happy that Lonelysandwich went to Macworld and reported back, because he’s my kind of geek. A fan who doesn’t succumb to fanboyism, who sees the angles a little bit differently from tech press and gadget bloggers. His writing is personal and casual, but informed, with a different perspective from the average media or Silicon Valley obsessive – which is to say, refreshing.

If you’re a fan of the slice of the technology world that is Apple and find yourself a bit bored with the typical coverage of the annual Macworld pilgrimage, you owe it to yourself to give his wrap up posts a read.
